FLORENCE
The obelisk of Ramses II, was erected originaly
in the temple of
the Sun in Heliopolis, possibly he is twin of which
it is in Rome,
the Dogali obelisk, it´s of red granite,
4.87 meters and 4.5 tons.
In century 17,was re erected in the roman Villa
Medici, in 1587 the
throne of Tuscany left
Rome to reign on Florence and the
collections which it contained then were
gradually trasported to
Florence, in 1790 was moved again to the
Boboli gardens in the
Pitti Palace, under proyect of Niccolo Gaspero Paoletti, and a great
old granite battery, placed in 1840, under
proyect of Pasquale
Poccianti.
The gardens, are of the Italian tipics form where
upon they were
made and planted by years 1550. In the center of a theater opened
in the park, one sees the obelisk and the removed bathtub
of the
Spas of Caracalla in Rome.
