HELIOPOLIS

                 The obelisk of SESOTRIS I, of 20,5 meters and 120  tons, dates from the
                 Middle Empire,  12th dynasty, was erected in 1942 B.C.,  at  the entrance
                 of the Sun temple in Heliopolis and is the oldest obelisk surviving.
                 In its inscription it say: "The first occasion to The  Jubilee, made  to give it
                 life for always", the jubilee was entertain to the 30 years reign the pharaoh.
                 In 1950, the obelisk was in  danger  of  collapse because the Nilo river had
                 risen and the obelisk was under the water during part of the year.
